00084: Layer has an invalid data source

In this topic

Your layer points to a data source that cannot be published when Feature Access (feature service) is enabled.

Solution

When publishing to ArcGIS for Server, do the following:

  • Make sure that the stand-alone table references a valid data source. See the list below for the supported databases for ArcGIS for Server.
  1. Copy or move datasets referenced by your layer into a single enterprise geodatabase or a single standard enterprise database that is supported by ArcGIS for Server.

  2. Once you have all your data in a single geodatabase or database, set the data source for the layers so that they all point to this single enterprise geodatabase or database.

    Caution:

All layers referencing an enterprise geodatabase or database must share a single connection to that database. This error may trigger even though the source database is the same. For example, if you have multiple connections to the same database and used different connections to add layers to the data frame, this error will result when you analyze.

Make sure that you use a single, common connection to the geodatabase when adding the data to your map or setting the data source for an existing layer.
