The ArcGIS Monitor Server application provides status information and charts with the amount of time required to collect samples in each sample interval. You can also view the amount of time required to collect samples for each counter type.
View collection status
Complete these steps to view the status of monitor services grouped by sample interval:
- Follow the steps in Access ArcGIS Monitor Server.
- Click the Site drop-down menu and choose Collection Time.
The Collection Status view appears.
- Click a collection in the tree view.
The Collection Status view for the chosen collection appears and contains a list of monitor services grouped by sample interval with the following status indicators:
- A green check mark in the Alerting column indicates that there are no alerts.
- A red exclamation point in the Alerting column indicates that there are one or more alerts that need to be investigated and addressed.
- A green check mark in the Monitor column indicates that there are no counter failures.
- A red exclamation point in the Monitor column indicates that one or more counter failures need to be investigated and addressed.
View collector status
Complete these steps to view the collection time status of counters for a collection:
- Follow the steps in Access ArcGIS Monitor Server.
- Click the Site drop-down menu and choose Collection Time.
The Collection Status view appears.
- Expand a collection in the tree view and click Monitor.
The Collector status view appears and contains a list of all counters in the collection with the following status indicators:
- A green check mark in the Alerting column indicates that there are no alerts.
- A red exclamation point and corresponding number in the Alerting column indicates the number of alerts that need to be investigated and addressed.
- A green check mark in the Monitor Failures column indicates that there are no counter failures.
- A red exclamation point and corresponding number in the Monitor Failures column indicates the number of counter failures that need to be investigated and addressed.
View monitor failures
Complete these steps to view collection time monitor failures:
- Follow the steps in Access ArcGIS Monitor Server.
- Click the Site drop-down menu and choose Collection Time.
The Collection Status view appears.
- Expand a collection in the tree view and click a collector.
- Click the Monitor Failures tab.
The Monitor Failures view appears and contains a list of failed items that may need administrator attention.
Counter reports
Complete these steps to view reports on the amount of time required to collect samples for each counter type:
- Follow the steps in Access ArcGIS Monitor Server.
- Click the Site drop-down menu and choose Collection Time.
The Collection Status view appears.
- Expand a collection and a collector in the tree view.
- Click a counter type to view the report.
The counter time report appears with statistics on the amount of time required to collect samples.
- Click one of the predefined range buttons for the report or choose a time range using the date and time drop-down menus and click OK.
Nota:
When the time span of a report is less than 12 hours, charts display real-time data values at the collection interval. When the time span of a report is greater than 12 hours, the chart displays hourly averages. As a result, the chart is flattened and does not show true values. Table statistics always display true values for minimum, maximum, percentile, and so on, regardless of the time span.
