New features and changes to ArcGIS Enterprise on Microsoft Azure at this release are described in the following sections.
New or altered options in ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Microsoft Azure
The following is now available in ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Microsoft Azure:
- Service principal authentication is supported when you store the configuration store and content directory in an Azure Blob container for deployments in Azure government cloud.
- When you federate an ArcGIS Image Server site with an ArcGIS Enterprise deployment, specify the function that the site will perform: image hosting, raster analytics, or neither of these functions.
Upgrades
Be aware of the following when upgrading deployments on Microsoft Azure.
Multiple machine ArcGIS Notebook Server sites
When you use Cloud Builder to upgrade a deployment that includes a multiple machine ArcGIS Notebook Server site, you must provide the Notebook Server site administrator username and password.
Enterprise geodatabases
If your deployment includes an enterprise geodatabase that contains branch versioned data, you are encouraged to upgrade the geodatabase at this release. You can use the UpgradeGeodatabase ArcPy function installed with ArcGIS Server or the Upgrade Geodatabase geoprocessing tool installed with ArcGIS Pro. See How Upgrade Geodatabase works in the ArcGIS Pro help for more information and instructions.
For better performance, ensure that the client you use to upgrade—ArcGIS Server or ArcGIS Pro—is running on Microsoft Azure.
General changes
At each release, new versions of ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Microsoft Azure and the Esri images on Microsoft Azure Marketplace are available.
