How you start with ArcGIS Workflow Manager depends on your duties in your organization. In larger organizations, the roles described here may be performed by one person or several people. In smaller organizations, there may be large overlaps between each role.

Information technology professional

Workflow Manager general user

ArcGIS Pro

ArcGIS Pro is usually only required when you are assigned an advanced editing step in a job's workflow. You can also use ArcGIS Pro to run any additional steps that are assigned to you in a job's workflow, and you may never need to access the Workflow Manager web app to complete your duties. The process for completing work in ArcGIS Pro is similar to the experience in the Workflow Manager web app but requires an additional Workflow Manager extension license.
