New at 10.4
ArcGIS 10.4 GeoEvent Extension for Server includes stability enhancements and improved functionality throughout the product. For a list of issues that are fixed in 10.4, see the 10.4 Issues Addressed List. For a summary of changes in the software, see the following sections.
Spatiotemporal Big Data Store
The ArcGIS Data Store, available with ArcGIS for Server, has been enhanced to work with observational data by way of introducing the spatiotemporal big data store. Observation data can be moving objects, changing attributes of stationary sensors, or both. The spatiotemporal big data store enables archival of high volume observation data, sustains high velocity write throughput, and can run across multiple machines (nodes).
Stream Services
- Stream services support the ability to Store Latest in a spatiotemporal big data store.
- Stream services support publishing to a folder on an ArcGIS Server.
- Stream services successfully publish when ArcGIS Server's security setting is set to HTTPS Only.
- When publishing a stream service and enabling Override, it now successfully replaces an existing stream service with the same name.
- Stream service's attribute filter now supports the between operation.
- Send to a Stream Service Output Connector no longer needs to be restarted after a machine restart.

- When referencing a feature service with one or more group layers, the correct layer ID's are now used by GeoEvent Extension.
- GeoEvent Extension now supports referencing feature and map service names that end with _M, _F, and _S.

- Inputs and outputs start faster because they no longer wait on feature and map services from ArcGIS Server connections to cache.
- Inputs and outputs are listed alphabetically in the element menu when creating a new GeoEvent Service.
- Add a Feature Output Connector and Update a Feature Output Connector correctly list feature and map services when federated with Portal for ArcGIS.
- Update a Feature Output Connector now accommodates case sensitivity, enabling it to work with the ArcGIS Data Store.
