Share presentations

If you have sharing privileges, you can use the Share button on Map Viewer Classic to share presentations, a collection of slides that show various views of your map. If your organization allows sharing outside the organization (and you have sharing privileges), the pop-up also includes Facebook and Twitter buttons that you can use to share the presentation through your Facebook and Twitter accounts. You need to save your presentation before you can share it.

Share a link to a presentation

You can share a URL that links directly to a presentation. Sharing a direct link to a presentation is ideal if you want to provide a seamless, efficient way for others to view your presentation. When someone clicks the link to your presentation, it opens in a web page designed for viewing the presentation. For example, the page includes buttons to go to the next slide and back to the previous slide.

Note:

Be sure your presentation is shared at the correct level before you send out a link. For example, if you want to send a link to the general public (and your organization allows it), your presentation needs to be shared with everyone (public).

  1. Verify that you are signed in with privileges to share content.
  2. Open the map with the saved presentation in Map Viewer Classic.
  3. Click Share and in the Link to this map section, choose Presentation. You can also use the provided buttons to post your map to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, embed your map, and make an application.
  4. Select and copy the URL that appears and paste it into an email, instant message, and so on.

Embed a presentation

One of the ways you can share a presentation is to include it in a web page such as a blog or your organization's website. Your portal provides the code you need and gives you options for the size.

  1. Verify that you are signed in with privileges to share content.
  2. Open a saved presentation in Map Viewer Classic and click Share.
  3. Verify that the presentation is shared with everyone.
  4. Choose to embed a presentation and choose a presentation size.
  5. Select and copy the HTML code that's provided.
  6. Paste the code into your web page where you want the presentation to appear.
