ArcGIS Enterprise provides language-specific resources that allow you to localize Esri content and the user interface of the portal. These resources are installed by the Portal for ArcGIS setup. Localized help documentation is available as a separate installation.
Localize the portal
The default language for users accessing your ArcGIS Enterprise organization is determined by the organization default language. After installation, the language is set to English. You can update this to any of Esri's supported languages that are enabled for your organization.
Individual members can set their own preferred language in their user profile, allowing them to override the organization language after signing in. Users who do not have an ArcGIS organizational account will always see the portal in the organization language; they are not able to specify their own language.
By default, all Esri supported languages are enabled for your ArcGIS Enterprise organization. The enabled languages determine the localized Esri content available to your users. If you disable a language, members can still set it as their preferred language, but it is not recommended. They will not have access to localized Esri content, which means they will not have access to expected features and functionalities. For more information, see Configure localized content.
