While your administrator sets a default language for your ArcGIS Enterprise organization, you can choose to instead view the portal with your preferred language and region. The language you set determines the language that appears in the user interface, the way time, date, and numerical values appear, and the localized Esri content available to you.
The following languages are supported by Esri:
Arabic | Latvian |
Bosnian | Lithuanian |
Bulgarian | Norwegian |
Catalan | Polish |
Croatian | Portuguese (Brazil) |
Czech | Portuguese (Portugal) |
Danish | Romanian |
Dutch | Russian |
English | Serbian |
Estonian | Simplified Chinese |
Finnish | Slovak |
French | Slovenian |
German | Spanish |
Greek | Swedish |
Hebrew | Thai |
Hungarian | Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) |
Indonesian | Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) |
Italian | Turkish |
Japanese | Ukrainian |
Korean | Vietnamese |
Although Esri supports these languages, your organization may not. If you select a language that is not enabled for your organization, you will not have access to localized Esri content. Without localized content, you will not have access to expected features and functionalities.
Note:
Changing the user profile locale does not update the help documentation. To view the portal help in a language other than English, your administrator must download the language pack from My Esri and install it.
Number and date format
If the language in your profile is set to English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish, you can change the way numbers and dates are displayed in the portal. For example, if the language is set to English, you can choose to display dates and numbers using the formats defined in the Common Locale Data Repository (CLDR) for Australia, Great Britain, Canada, or the United States.
Note:
Currently, you can only set the Number and date format option when English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish is selected as the language. The Number and date format setting is not reflected in the date values displayed in attribute tables, map labels, or animation time slices, or when viewing pop-ups. However, you can create a simple Arcade attribute expression using the Text() function to change the format of dates in pop-ups.
- Verify that you are signed in to the website.
- At the top of the site, click your name and click My settings.

- From the Language drop-down menu, choose your language preference.
- If you chose English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish for the Language setting, choose a locale from the Number and date format drop-down menu.
Numbers and dates are displayed in the ArcGIS Enterprise portal using the CLDR formats defined for the locale you chose.
