Configure a group and share settings

Available with Production Mapping license.

Groups provide a way to organize and control access to items in your portal. You can use a group to share the Map Production System (MPS) web app in your portal and associate it with ArcGIS Configurable Apps.

To configure a group and its share settings, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a group in your organization's ArcGIS Enterprise portal for the MPS app.
    Note:

Starting at Enterprise 11.2, members of this group can cancel jobs that are processing and delete completed jobs if the group's ID is added to the AdminGroupId property in the TMSProperty table. Ensure that the server is stopped while making changes to the table in ArcGIS Pro so that the changes are reflected when the server is restarted.

  2. Click Organization, and click the Settings tab.
  3. Click Map, and scroll to the Configurable apps section.
  4. Click Default, and choose the group you created.

A notification that the Configurable Apps group was updated successfully appears.

  5. Click Share the Esri default configurable apps with group.

A notification that the Esri default Configurable Apps were shared successfully appears.

  6. Click Search Search and type Production in the text box that appears.

ArcGIS Production Mapping Map Production System (MPS) appears in the search results.

    Tip:

You can choose the app from the results that appear as you provide search terms in the search text box or press Enter to see the Search results page.

  7. On the MPS web app Overview page, click Share.

    The Share dialog box appears.

  8. Click Edit group sharing, choose the group you created, and click OK.
  9. Click Save.

A notification that the MPS web app's share setting appears.

A group has been created, Configurable Apps have been shared to the group, and unconfigured MPS web app files have been associated with the group. Next, you must prepare and share a web map in ArcGIS Pro, create the app from that web map, and configure the app's settings.
