ArcGIS Web Adaptor is a web application that communicates with and forwards client requests to the ArcGIS Server machines participating in your ArcGIS Server site. If you've registered a Web Adaptor with your site, you can use Manager to view its properties or, if desired, to unregister it with your site.
View Web Adaptor properties
- Open ArcGIS Server Manager and log in. If you need help with this step, see Logging in to Manager.
- Click Site > Web Adaptor.
- Review the properties of the Web Adaptors registered with your site.
The Machine Name displays the name of the machine hosting the Web Adaptor.
The URL allows you to access the Services Directory through the machine hosting the Web Adaptor. This is the URL to use when connecting to services from client applications.
The Administrative Access column indicates if outside users can access the login pages of ArcGIS Server Manager and the ArcGIS Server Administrator Directory. This also blocks ArcGIS Pro users from establishing administrative or publisher connections to ArcGIS Server through the Web Adaptor.
To modify the properties of a Web Adaptor, you'll need to access its configuration page. For full instructions, see Configure the Web Adaptor after installation.
Unregister a Web Adaptor
You can disable HTTP communication between the Web Adaptor and your ArcGIS Server machines by unregistering the Web Adaptor. Keep in mind that this operation does not uninstall the Web Adaptor from its host machine; you'll need to do this manually. For full instructions, see Uninstalling the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (Java Platform) on Linux.
Caution:
Once you unregister the Web Adaptor, client applications will not be able to communicate with your ArcGIS Server machines. If you want to re-establish this communication in the future, use the Web Adaptor configuration page to register the Web Adaptor to the site again. For full instructions, see Configure the Web Adaptor after installation.
- Open ArcGIS Server Manager and log in with a user that has administrative access to ArcGIS Server. If you need help with this step, see Log in to Manager.
- Click Site > Web Adaptor.
- Click Unregister Web Adaptor .
- On the Unregister Web Adaptor dialog box, click Yes.
Your Web Adaptor is now unregistered and will no longer be able to communicate with and forward requests to your ArcGIS Server machines.
