Changes in the 11.0 release of ArcGIS Enterprise on Amazon Web Services (AWS) are described in the following sections.
Machine images
When you use ArcGIS Enterprise on Amazon Web Services deployment tools to create a deployment beginning with this release, the tools will launch the latest Microsoft Windows or Ubuntu Server LTS image available on AWS and install ArcGIS Enterprise components on them.
If you require a different operating system or you want to preinstall software, you can create your own Amazon Machine Image (AMI). Specify the ID of your customized AMI when you use ArcGIS Enterprise on Amazon Web Services deployment tools, and the tools will use your custom AMI to launch deployments.
