Get ArcGIS Server up and running

Below are the primary steps required to run ArcGIS Server:

If you are upgrading from a previous version to ArcGIS Server 11.2 follow steps in the Upgrade ArcGIS Server topic.

1. Verify that your site meets the system requirements.
2. Plan your ArcGIS Server site configuration.
3. Modify your firewall to allow communication on the ports used by ArcGIS Server.
4. Install ArcGIS Server.
   • If you'll be configuring a single-machine deployment of ArcGIS Server, see Installing ArcGIS Server.
   • If you'll be configuring a multiple-machine deployment of ArcGIS Server, see Installing ArcGIS Server on multiple machines.
5. Sign in to Manager.
6. Install and configure ArcGIS Web Adaptor.
7. Connect to ArcGIS Server from ArcGIS Pro.
8. Grant permissions to data directories.
9. Publish services.
