The 11.3 release of ArcGIS Enterprise on Amazon Web Services (AWS) includes the new options and changes described in the sections below.
Changes to ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Amazon Web Services
Cloud Builder 11.3 supports upgrading an ArcGIS Knowledge Server site that you created with Cloud Builder 11.2.
New or updated CloudFormation templates
The following new and altered CloudFormation templates are provided by Esri with the 11.3 release:
- The arcgis-datastore-cluster-enhanced.template.json CloudFormation template allows you to add an ArcGIS Data Store spatiotemporal big data store cluster that contains separate coordinator and data instances to an ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 deployment. Using machines with specific roles, rather than ones that fill both roles, can improve performance. Three coordinator instances are placed in one AWS Auto Scaling group, and the data instances (up to five instances) are placed in a second Auto Scaling group.
- The arcgis-server-singlemachine-upgrade.template.json and arcgis-server-ha-upgrade.template.json CloudFormation templates are updated to allow you to upgrade ArcGIS Knowledge Server sites that you created with CloudFormation 11.2 templates.
- The arcgis-datastore-singlemachine-upgrade.template.json and arcgis-datastore-cluster-upgrade.template.json CloudFormation templates are updated to allow you to upgrade graph data stores that you created using CloudFormation 11.2 templates.
Changes in versions and support
- Support is added for a new AWS region—ca-west-1.
- Deployments on Linux now use Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS by default.
- If you are upgrading a highly available deployment that includes the Portal for ArcGIS component, ensure that ports 7820, 7830, and 7840 are open in the instances' firewall, as these ports are now required for communication between portal machines.
- If you have enterprise geodatabases that contain branch versioned data, you are encouraged to upgrade the geodatabase at this release. You can use the UpgradeGeodatabase ArcPy function installed with ArcGIS Server or the Upgrade Geodatabase geoprocessing tool installed with ArcGIS Pro. See How Upgrade Geodatabase works in the ArcGIS Pro help for more information and instructions.
For better performance, ensure that the client you use to upgrade—ArcGIS Server or ArcGIS Pro—is running on AWS and in the same region as the database service in which the geodatabase is stored.
- See the latest deprecation notices on the Esri support site for a list of deprecated functionality.
