ArcGIS Enterprise Builder deploys ArcGIS Enterprise on a single machine on premises. The system and hardware requirements required to run ArcGIS Enterprise Builder are listed below. Linux only: A diagnostics tool runs during the setup to help you determine if your machine meets the minimum system requirements.
If you will license ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Pro extensions, or ArcGIS Drone2Map through ArcGIS Enterprise, you also need ArcGIS License Manager 2021.1 or a later release to configure licenses to specify which members can use these apps. See the Portal for ArcGIS administrator guide, License Manager reference guide, and the License Manager system requirements for more information.
Before you implement or upgrade an ArcGIS Enterprise deployment using ArcGIS Enterprise Builder, review the deprecation notice to determine if your hardware and software components are still compatible with the current release of ArcGIS Enterprise Builder. Also review all current system requirements of the individual product components. You can access this information from the ArcGIS Enterprise Installation Guides documentation.
Linux operating system requirements
The following 64-bit operating systems satisfy the minimum operating system requirements. Support is not provided for 32-bit operating systems; the setup only proceeds if the operating system is 64 bit.
ArcGIS Enterprise is only supported on Linux x86_64, on CPUs that adhere to the x86_64 architecture (64 bit), with supported Linux releases.
Machines with an underscore (_) in the name are not supported. The setup does not proceed if an underscore is detected in the machine name.
The software should not be installed on an OS (binary) that has been modified. Esri does not provide support for products installed on a developer's release of an operating system.
You cannot install the software as a root user. If you attempt to do this, the installation will not proceed, and a software diagnostics tool will display an error message indicating that you cannot install as root.
Note:A Java Application Server and the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (Java Platform) need to be installed prior to ArcGIS Enterprise Builder to complete the set up and configuration.
|Supported operating system||Latest update or service pack tested|
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 8
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
Service Pack 3
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12
Service Pack 5
Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS
Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS
Oracle Linux 8
Prior and future updates or service packs for these operating system versions are supported unless otherwise stated. The operating system version and updates must also be supported by the operating system provider.
Esri Technical Support is no longer available for CentOS and Scientific Linux.
The X Window System package group is required on the machine to run the following using the operating system graphical user interface (GUI):
- ArcGIS Enterprise Builder installation wizard
- ArcGIS Software Authorization Wizard
- Check for Updates tool
Disk space requirements
ArcGIS Enterprise Builder (Linux) requires a minimum of 30 GB of free disk space. The location you provide as your installation drive during setup must have a minimum of 28 GB of free disk space for installation to proceed, and you need an additional 2 GB of space on the system's /tmp folder to allow for extraction of the setup. To accommodate data added after installation, a production system should have 60 GB or more of free disk space on each machine in the deployment.
It is strongly recommended that you have at least 16 GB of memory to install ArcGIS Enterprise Builder.
The components in a base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment communicate on specific ports. You must open these ports on your firewall before installing the software.
ArcGIS Web Adaptor communicates over ports 80 and 443. See the following for information on the ports used by each additional component that is installed using ArcGIS Enterprise Builder:
ArcGIS Enterprise deployments require HTTPS to be enabled on the machine where the base deployment is installed. For details, review steps to enable HTTPS on your web server.
Supported web browsers
The ArcGIS Enterprise Configuration Wizard supports the following web browsers:
- Google Chrome version 99 and later
- Microsoft Edge version 99 and later
- Mozilla Firefox version 100 and later
- Mozilla Firefox version 91 (ESR)
- Safari version 14 and later
Supported virtualization environments and cloud platforms
Virtualization and cloud environment support is the same for all components of a base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment. See ArcGIS Enterprise on cloud platforms and Supported virtualization environments in ArcGIS Enterprise system requirements for details.
