Authorizing the software

Esri Roads and Highways for Server uses your current ArcGIS license system. You need to add the individual Esri Roads and Highways for Server features to the ArcGIS License Manager.

Authorizing Roads and Highways for Server

Each machine with an installation requires an authorization file. Use the following process to authorize Esri Roads and Highways for Server:

  1. Obtain an authorization file from http://service.esri.com. You can receive this file by email, fax, phone, or mail.
  2. Use the ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server Software Authorization Wizard to add the Esri Roads and Highways for Server license feature to your site. The wizard starts after the ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server installation completes. To access the Software Authorization Wizard after installation, click Start > Programs > ArcGIS > Software Authorization.

Registration requires the registration numbers (similar in format to ABC123456789) provided by Customer Service. Visit http://service.esri.com for more information.

Authorizing Roadway Reporter

Roadway Reporter is licensed separately from Esri Roads and Highways for Server. Use the following process to authorize Roadway Reporter:

  1. Obtain an authorization file from http://service.esri.com. You can receive this file by email, fax, phone, or mail.
  2. Use the ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server Software Authorization Wizard to add the Roadway Reporter license feature to your site. To access the Software Authorization Wizard, click Start > Programs > ArcGIS > Software Authorization.
  3. Choose the I have installed my software and need to authorize it option.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Choose Authorize with Esri now using the internet.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Provide the Authorizing Information.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Provide the authorization code.
  10. Click Next
  11. Choose I do not want to authorize any extensions at this time.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Click Finish.
