ArcGIS Data Store 10.6.1 is primarily a quality improvement release. See the 10.6.1 issues addressed list for information. Additional changes for 10.6.1 are described below.
You now have the option to configure more than one backup location for your relational data store. Your default backup location must be a shared file directory, but you can register additional backup locations (another shared file directory, an Amazon Simple Storage Service [S3] bucket, or a Microsoft Azure Blob storage container) to use when you run full manual backups using the backupdatastore utility.
Starting with ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1, you must use a relational ArcGIS Data Store with your portal's hosting server. If you were using an enterprise geodatabase as your hosting server's managed database prior to 10.6.1, change to using a relational data store after you upgrade Portal for ArcGIS and the ArcGIS Server sites in your deployment.
ArcGIS Data Store 10.6
The following functionality is new in ArcGIS Data Store 10.6:
- The upgrade procedure has changed; you now install ArcGIS Data Store on all machines first and then configure, allowing you to configure multiple machines at the same time. You can do this with the configuredatastore utility.
- You can configure multiple output locations for spatiotemporal big data store backups, including Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) buckets and Microsoft Azure Blob storage containers.
- If you use tile cache data stores, you can use the new enablessl parameter with the changedbproperties utility to enable HTTP communication between the hosting server and tile cache data store. If you use HTTP communication when creating the tile cache data store, you avoid having to enable SSLv3 security on the hosting server; a setting that affects all communication on the hosting server machines.
System requirements have changed for ArcGIS Data Store 10.6. Be sure to read the ArcGIS Data Store system requirements before upgrading to 10.6.
Several issues were also fixed in ArcGIS Data Store 10.6. For information on what was fixed, see the 10.6 issues addressed list.
