Switch basemap

A basemap provides a background of geographical context for the content in your scene. ArcGIS Online includes a basemap gallery with a variety of choices, including topography, imagery, and streets. You can configure the contents of the basemap gallery if you have administrator privileges in your organization. To use these basemaps, you need to follow Scene Viewer basemap requirements.

  1. Click the Basemap button Basemap to open the gallery.
  2. Click the thumbnail of the basemap that best emphasizes your scene.
  3. Click X to close Basemap.

See through ground

When you are viewing a scene, you can make the ground transparent to see underground layers.

  1. Click the Basemap button Basemap to open the gallery.
  2. Click the See through ground switch to see underground layers.
  3. Click X to close Basemap.

  2. Click Local scene New Local Scene
  3. Click the Modify scene button Modify scene in the upper left of your screen to open the Scene designer.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. Click Clip to Extent to clip your scene to the current view.
  6. Navigate around the scene to a new camera view and click the Update To Current View button Update to Current View to update the clipped extent to reflect your current view in the scene.
  7. Click Done.
