Once you add a file to your organization—such as a shapefile, PDF, or packages—the file is static. To update the file, you must replace it.
Item owners, organization administrators, and data curators can update items. How you update item content varies by item type.
Use the Item type filter in the Content page to display only file or layer file items.
Follow these steps to replace a file item:
- Sign in to the organization.
- Open the item details for the file.
- Click Update on the Overview tab.
- Choose the replacement file from your local machine or a network drive.
The name of the replacement file must be the same as the name of the file you replace.
- Click Update Item.
