New features and changes to ArcGIS Enterprise on Microsoft Azure at this release are described in the following sections.
New or altered options in ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Microsoft Azure
The following are now available in ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Microsoft Azure:
- You can use Cloud Builder 11.2 to create a multiple machine ArcGIS Notebook Server site.
- Support is added for the new capabilities of Application Gateway V2, which allows you to use a Private IP without requiring a Public IP.
- When you deploy an ArcGIS Server site or add a federated server to an existing ArcGIS Enterprise deployment, you can register a cloud storage data store with the site.
- When you create a database or geodatabase to include with the deployment, Microsoft Azure Database for PostgreSQL (Flexible Server) is now supported.
- Starting with Cloud Builder 11.2, the certificates from a certifying authority that you load to Microsoft Azure Key Vault from Cloud Builder will be tagged to indicate that is how they were added. This will help you identify the certificates you can use for the deployments you create using Cloud Builder.
- You can change the settings for Cloud Builder to set a default logging location. You can also enable debug logging to help you troubleshoot.
- When you upgrade a deployment using Cloud Builder, you can remove the Azure Log Analytics agent from all the machines in the deployment. If you enabled Azure Monitoring when you created the deployment, the Log Analytics agent is one of the monitoring agents on the machines, but Microsoft is retiring the Log Analytics agent in 2024.
- When you use Cloud Builder to create a deployment, you can add user-assigned managed identities to the machines in the deployment. These identities allow access to the ArcGIS Server configuration store and the Portal for ArcGIS content store in an Azure Blob storage account and cloud storage data stores.
- A service principal authentication type is available in Cloud Builder when you use an Azure Blob storage account for the ArcGIS Server configuration store and the Portal for ArcGIS content directory.
