When you use an Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudFormation provided by Esri, you can specify a base Amazon Machine Image (AMI) ID to use for the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances included in your deployment. The AMI ID you specify must use a supported operating system version. These versions are listed in the following sections.
Linux
The following Linux operating systems are supported for all ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 components you deploy using a CloudFormation template provided by Esri except ArcGIS Notebook Server:
- Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 8
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
- CentOS Linux 8
- Oracle Linux 8
Note:
Esri Technical Support is available for CentOS and Oracle Linux versions that provide full binary compatibility with an equivalent supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server version. As a prerequisite for logging a software defect, Esri Technical Support will attempt to reproduce the issue on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server. For Oracle Linux, support is predicated on the use of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server compatible kernel.
For ArcGIS Notebook Server, the following operating systems are supported:
- Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 8—You must configure Docker on these images before configuring ArcGIS Notebook Server. See the ArcGIS Notebook Server Linux installation guide for instructions.
Microsoft Windows
The following Windows operating system versions are supported when you create a 10.9.1 or ArcGIS Pro 2.9 deployment using a CloudFormation template provided by Esri:
- Windows Server 2022 Standard and Datacenter
- Windows Server 2019 Standard and Datacenter
- Windows Server 2016 Standard and Datacenter
- Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and Datacenter
- Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise (64 bit [EM64T])
For ArcGIS Enterprise, Windows 10 is supported for basic testing and application development use only. It is not recommended for deployment in a production environment. If you deploy ArcGIS Pro on its own EC2 instance, Windows 10 is supported for production environments.
ArcGIS Notebook Server is not supported on Windows operating systems when you deploy the site using an Esri CloudFormation template.
