Advanced settings

ArcGIS Enterprise Sites has advanced settings which enable you to apply your organization's information banner on sites.

Enable information banners

An information banner is a thin bar that sits atop various places in ArcGIS Enterprise, including the Home, Gallery, and Map Viewer pages. ArcGIS Enterprise administrators can use an information banner to alert members of status updates and other announcements. They can also use Sites Settings to display this banner in ArcGIS Enterprise Sites.


To enable information banners for your organization, you must have a default Administrator role or have the following administrative privilege assigned to your user role: Organization Settings > Organization website > Manage the organization's website.

Default administrators can assign this privilege to members who have a custom role without giving them access to additional organization settings. For more information on configuring custom roles for Sites, see Configure roles and privileges.

  1. Sign in to ArcGIS Enterprise.
  2. On Overview, click Sites Settings in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. Under Information Banner, click the checkbox next to Display information banner across all sites and pages.
  4. Click Save.

    The information banner is applied to all sites and pages.
